Former Olympian Inga Thompson Blasts Feminist Group After Ridiculous 'White Supremacist' Accusations

The National Organization for Women (NOW), a large feminist group in the United States, recently accused those who do not believe that transgender athletes - biological men - should compete in women's sports of being "white supremacists." The common-sense-having crowd, which includes three-time Olympic cyclist Inga Thompson, are understandably taking issue with the group's ridiculous accusation.

NOW has specifically taken issue with the Independent Council on Women's Sports (ICONS) announcing that it will be exclusively funding support for a lawsuit against the NCAA and its regulations allowing male athletes to compete in women's sports.

OutKick's Riley Gaines, along with 15 other former and current female college athletes, are among those championing the lawsuit regarding transgender athletes.

NOW shared an AP news article about the lawsuit on its X account offering up an absurd opinion on the matter writing, "Repeat after us: Weaponizing womenhood against other women is white supremacist patriarchy at work. Making people believe there isn't enough space for trans women in sports is white supremacist patriarchy at work."

Speaking with Fox News, Thompson made it clear that NOW's accusations are absurd and simply another tactic to silence women.

"They're all attempts at silencing women by throwing these accusations out there," Thompson explained. "When you get to the root cause of this, we are none of that. We are none of that. It is simply women asking for our sex-seperated rights."

"It's taken away opportunities for women. And we still don't have 50 percent of the opportunities out there. Men still have far more opportunities in sports than women do. And so the few opportunities that we have, they want those too," Thompson continued.

While NOW's social media post insinuates the argument for trans athletes to compete against women, the specific wording used of "making people believe there isn't enough space for trans women in sports is white supremacists" is even more absurd.

The discussion about trans athletes has nothing to do with trans athletes being banned from competing in sports in general, but instead trans athletes competing in women's sports.

So, NOW's opinion is ridiculous on multiple levels.
