Federal Vaccine Mandate Goes Into Effect January 4th

Vaccine mandates for federal employees, health care workers and other private employees will not be a pain in the arm -- or the ass -- of millions of workers for the holiday season. The Biden administration announced Thursday morning that it will delay requiring jabs until just after the jingle bells stop ringing, on January 4th.

The administration had previously tabbed December 8th as the date by which workers must be fully vaccinated.

Under President Biden's mandate, all employees at businesses with a payroll of 100 or more people either need to be vaccinated by the new deadline or wear a mask while working and be tested for COVID-19 on a weekly basis.

Businesses that do not comply with the mandate will be subject to fines of up to $14,000 for each infraction. But don't fret, business owners of America, it gets better...employers must provide their workers with paid time off to both receive and recover from the now-required vaccine.

As it stands, January's mandate will affect close to 100 million U.S. workers since government workers and health care employees will also be required to be vaccinated. They will not be allowed the option to wear a mask and submit to weekly testing.

Speculation persists that the mandate was delayed until after the new year because retailers feared their already limited staffs would shrink just in time for the busy holiday rush. Instead, the Biden administration is choosing to delay everyone's misery until January.
