Fauci Talks Masks For Kids, Though He Could Probably Use A Muzzle Himself

Dr. Anthony Fauci has always seemed like he makes things up as he goes along, so why stop now? After all, the mainstream media takes whatever he says about the coronavirus as absolute gospel -- and he then gets on TV.

Fauci's latest dose of expertise relates to kids wearing masks.

On Sunday, Fauci said kids should wear masks when gathered in groups on playgrounds or while at summer camps. Well, sort of.

“When the children go out into the community, you want them to continue to wear masks when they’re interacting with groups or multiple households,” Fauci told CBS anchor Margaret Brennan on Face the Nation when asked about the risks facing kids. "The children can clearly wind up getting infected."

For whatever reason, kids who have contracted COVID have experienced only mild symptoms. Oftentimes, they are carriers without even knowing it. There are a lot of theories behind that. Some people even suggest that the virus was designed in a Chinese laboratory to target adults. That seems far-fetched, but hey, who knows what the truth really is these days?

Anyway, the data shows that positivity rates among adults are declining, presumably in part because of the availability of vaccinations. So it's possible, Fauci suggested, that kids could start gathering as they once did.

This follows his comments in January, when he strongly backed the CDC's recommendations that kids return to school.

“We now have 3 to 3.5 million vaccinations each day," he said Sunday. "If we keep up with that pace, invariably, that’s going to drive the rate and the level of infections per day to a much much lower level."

He added that a continued decline in cases could result in a “good degree of flexibility during the summer ... with things like camps.”

Bottom line: At some point, the virus will be vanquished. Let's just hope it takes Fauci's relevance with it.
