Democrats Convinced Joe Biden Will Look at Andrew Cuomo for Attorney General

Buzz is growing that New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo could get a look from Joe Biden for the attorney general position.

According to Axios, Democrats are so convinced of it — the National Governors Association, which Cuomo chairs, are looking at contingencies to replace him.

Democratic donors tell the outlet Cuomo is being pushed for the job. Cuomo's team denies he's considering it.

In June, Cuomo said if Biden asked, he would not accept a Cabinet position.

“I support Joe Biden for president, and I believe he’s going to be the next president. I am not running for anything. I am governor of New York and that’s all I want to be,” Cuomo told ABC.

As political followers know, the word of a politician like Cuomo means little.

If Biden were to ultimately consider and favor Cuomo, it wouldn't surprise anyone. The two's friendship extends decades. Furthermore, Democrats are fond of Cuomo and his support on the left is strong.

Axios adds, however, Biden is "under pressure to name a racially and gender-diverse Cabinet."

Stacey Abrams is a likely AG candidate.

The AG position would be key to the reception of the Biden administration. Biden voters have a strong focus on areas that include the police force and racial unrest. Additionally, Democrats will pressure the administration to investigate Trump's time in the White House. That is a given.

What will New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo's brother CNN's Chris Cuomo have to say about this?
