College Football National Title Odds

Happy Thanksgiving from OddsShark.

The top-ranked Alabama Crimson Tide (11-0) have rolled for the most part this season, but this Saturday they will be the smallest favorites they have been since 2015 when they visit the Auburn Tigers (9-2) in their annual Iron Bowl rivalry game

The defending SEC champion Crimson Tide remain solid favorites on the odds to win the national championship at +120 (bet $100 to win $120) at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com while the Tigers are listed as the +800 co-fourth choice along with the ACC’s Miami Hurricanes (10-0).

Alabama is 5-point road chalk at Auburn and has been favored in each of the last nine meetings, going 7-2 straight up and 5-4 against the spread. The Tigers were last favored in the Iron Bowl back in 2007, head coach Nick Saban’s first year with the Crimson Tide.

Auburn would likely make the four-team CFP field with wins over Alabama and the Georgia Bulldogs (10-1) for a second time in the SEC Championship Game. Georgia is listed at +1000 to win the national title and needs to win out as well in order to make the CFP for the first time in school history.

The two co-second choices to win the national championship right now are the ACC’s Clemson Tigers (10-1) and the Big 12’s Oklahoma Sooners (10-1) at +500. The Sooners have an easier path to return to the CFP, as they need to beat the West Virginia Mountaineers at home and then either the TCU Horned Frogs (9-2) or Iowa State Cyclones (7-4) in the Big 12 Championship Game.

Oklahoma suffered its lone loss to Iowa State at home on October 7 but already defeated TCU two weeks ago.

Clemson will play Miami in the ACC Championship Game, and the winner is a virtual lock to make the CFP as long as neither team stumbles on the road this week. The Tigers visit the South Carolina Gamecocks (8-3) on Saturday night in their annual rivalry game while the Hurricanes visit the Pittsburgh Panthers (4-7) early on Friday.

The Big Ten’s Ohio State Buckeyes (9-2) and Wisconsin Badgers (11-0) also both have a shot to make the CFP, although neither can afford to lose one of their last two games. They are each listed at +1200 and slated to meet in the Big Ten Championship Game.

But first on Saturday, Ohio State visits the Michigan Wolverines (8-3) and Wisconsin travels to play the Minnesota Golden Gophers (5-6) as double-digit favorites.
