'American Idol' Singer Funke Lagoke Faints On Stage While Awaiting Show Results

American Idol contestant Funke Lagoke fainted on stage during Monday's show, waiting to hear whether she was going to advance in the show competition.

Lagoke and Ronda Felton had just concluded their duets portion and one of the show's judges, Lionel Richie, was giving his feedback on the performance.

“Funke, you got yourself to the end. The problem is ... ” Richie said before Lagoke fainted, landing face first.

Paramedics arrived quickly to assist with Lagoke, and judge Luke Bryan also attended to Lagoke while she was down waiting to be taken out on a gurney.

The contestant was treated for dehydration at a hospital and released, the show stated.

“I can’t say that I’m happy in this moment, I’m just worried about her health more than anything,” Felton said.

“I feel like that’s the No. 1 important thing right now. I just want to let her know that I love her, that I care about her, I want her to be OK.”
