Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez Says She is 'No Bulls**t' And Could Primary Chuck Schumer in 2022

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) — calling her “AOC” is “disrespectful” but buy her $65 “AOC” shirts now — is a no-bullshit kind of person. At least that's what she said about herself on Monday morning. Ocasio-Cortez, who doesn't "play coy," wouldn't rule out primarying Democrat Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer in 2022, though her future plans are not yet final.

"It's a hard thing to say, too. We've had to deal with a fascist president and Mitch McConnell," Ocasio-Cortez said when asked her timetable on a decision. "There are things you can do in the minority. There are also things you couldn't do with this minority because Senate rules changed."

Ocasio-Cortez wouldn't answer whether the Democrats' chances of losing their House majority in 2022 would affect her decision.

"I'm not sure about that either," she says. "For me, I don’t make these decisions based on these short-term factors.”

“If I want to have a child, I would want my child - or my nieces or nephews - to have guaranteed health care by the time they’re my age. And freedom from want. I’m also very indecisive.”

The Democrats would take over the Senate majority if the party wins both seats in Georgia in Tuesday's runoff senatorial election. Should both Jon Ossoff (D) and the radical Raphael Warnock (D) win, the Senate will be 50-50, with Vice President-elect Kamala Harris settling the tie. In the U.K. book Paddy Power, David Perdue (R) and Ossoff  (D) are in a dead heat, while Warnock is favored over Kelly Loeffler (R).

The future direction of the Democratic Party is up in the air. Sunday, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi was reelected in a narrow vote after her party lost seats, but the 117th Congress will likely be Pelosi’s last as speaker. And if Schumer is pushed out in two years, the party will be influenced even more by the progressive wing. Though Ocasio-Cortez says she isn't ready to lead the Democratic Party as of now, her voice among the progressives is growing.

For now, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is a congresswoman selling overpriced, low-quality sweatshirts. Want one?

At least is Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is a no-bullshit kind of person, right?
