Alex Cora Is Officially Back With The Boston Red Sox

Former Red Sox manager Alex Cora is officially returning to coach the team, according to reports. It's no surprise that the Red Sox would hire Cora, as practically every manager involved in the 2017 cheating scandals have been hired since. Someone call Carlos Beltran STAT, so he can get his job back in Queens.

Bringing back the brains of their 2018 World Series run seems like a good idea. Of course he was involved in the cheating, but the hectic year has caused many people to forget about the scandal.

The Red Sox finished in last place (24-36) in AL East and lost future HOFer Mookie Betts to the 2020 World Series Champion Los Angeles Dodgers, the latter of which really angered fans.

Bringing Alex Cora back might return some of that winning mojo to soften the blow of losing Betts. Cora likely can't wave a magic wand to fix the dreadful Red Sox pitching staff, but he just might bring some hope to that locker room. It's absolutely worth a shot.

Welcome back, Alex Cora
