AEW Wrestler's Use Of A Pizza Cutter Has Domino's Threatening To Pull Ads

Domino's generally stands by their pizza, but after an incident at Wednesday night's All Elite Wrestling (AEW) telecast, they're reconsidering their stance on slices. Rather than go with a traditional body slam or flying elbow, wrestler Nick Gage opted to use a pizza slicer on his opponent's (Chris Jericho) head. With timing that rivals a Thom Brennaman apology, a Domino's delivery ad immediately followed. The pizza chain apparently finds the human pizza cutter less than appetizing.

Spokeswoman Jenny Fouracre-Petko told Front Office Sports that Domino's was not involved with the human pizza cutter/ad combination and had no previous knowledge of the series of events. She suggested that Domino's may pull their AEW ads moving forward. “We share the concerns expressed about this incident and the content of this TV-14 rated program, and are assessing our advertising presence on it going forward,” said Fouracre-Petko.

Shortly after the in-ring slice and dice, AEW tweeted the clip to their more than 640,000 followers. In less than 24 hours, the clip has been viewed close to 100,000 times.

With art often imitating life, Chris Jericho, who's forehead was on the wrong end of the pizza cutter, should be glad the well-timed Domino's commercial wasn't promoting a sausage pizza.
