Active Shooting Heard Outside Of Nationals Park During Game

***UPDATE*** Early reports state that four people have been shot outside of Nationals Park, one of the victims is believed to be a Nationals Park employee.

Reports of an active shooter outside of Nationals Park have been announced after several loud bangs were heard during the ongoing Nationals vs. Padres game.

The game is currently delayed at the bottom of the sixth. Players from both teams quickly rushed off the field, some going into the stands to reach out to family members in attendance Saturday evening. 

The Washington Nationals announced via Twitter that law enforcement responded to the scene after sounds of the alleged shooting alarmed fans present at the venue:

"A shooting has been reported outside of the Third Base Gate at Nationals Park. Fans are encouraged to exit the ballpark via the CF and RF gates at this time. We're working with law enforcement to provide more information as soon as it becomes available."

Early footage of Nationals Park shows hundreds of people in attendance running out of their seats as the P.A. warns them to remain seated as a safety measure.

The game has officially been postponed.
