49ers QB Jimmy Garoppolo Good To Go Vs. Colts On Sunday Night

Sunday Night Football will feature a healthy Jimmy Garoppolo, as the 49ers quarterback is no longer listed on the injury report.

Garoppolo is expected start after missing Week 5 with a calf injury, per ESPN's Adam Schefter. Rookie Trey Lance started in the 17-10 loss on Oct. 10 before San Francisco had its bye week during Week 6. The extra rest has paid dividends for Garoppolo, who looks to steer the 49ers season (2-3) in the right direction against the Colts (2-4) on Sunday at 8:20 on NBC.

"It will be good to go out there and be full-go today," Shanahan said on Wednesday. "I know he's limited because we've got to make sure he can do everything. We'll have a much better idea today, but I'm pretty optimistic about it."

Lance, meanwhile, will be out on Sunday, recovering from a knee strain he suffered against Arizona. That leaves Nate Sudfield to backup Garoppolo.

"It's the same diagnosis and we were hoping (Lance) could go this week. Doesn't look like it," Shanahan said. "He might have a chance at the end of the week but I'd be surprised if he's not ready to go next week."

Garoppolo has silenced much of the speculation that Lance would become QB1 this season, playing well in four games. Garoppolo has completed 66.1% of his passes for 925 yards with five touchdowns and two interceptions. His connection with receiver Deebo Samuel has been sublime, while primary target George Kittle remains on injured reserve with a calf injury.
