Randy Travis Stuns America By Releasing New Song Despite Suffering Stroke 11 Years Ago, And It's Actually Good

Did you wake up on this first Saturday of May and think to yourself, I'd really like to start my day with some new Randy Travis music for the first time in 11 years.

Well, you're in luck! And you have the AI machines to thank.

The country music legend shocked America yesterday by releasing an actual new song for the first time in a decade. For those who forgot, Travis, 65, suffered a stroke in 2013 and has barely been able to speak – much less sing – since.

So, releasing new music has always sort of been out of the question. Tough to pump out the tunes when you have trouble speaking.

But that's why AI is great. Well, can be great. Not sure it's gonna end well when the robots are murdering us in a few years, but we'll cross that bridge when we get there.

For this, though, AI is great.

Randy Travis is somehow back to singing in 2024

I mean … it's kind of a banger? I didn't know what to expect when I saw Randy Travis – and a couple handy-dandy cloning devices – were gonna be releasing new music.

But it works. It's good. It's actually really, really good. And I can't tell anything is weird about it. Can you?

If I didn't know any better and was just driving down the road, and this song came on, I'd be like, ‘Damn, that’s a good Randy Travis song. Must've missed that one back in the day. What a shame. Miss that dude.;

The reviews over on Elon's Twitter are pretty solid, too. Obviously you have to take it all with a grain of salt, because who's gonna trash Randy Travis? I mean, he did nearly die 11 years ago.

But I don't think it's BS. I think people actually like that song. Is it Diggin' Up Bones? Of course not. Nothing is. But it's new Randy Travis music in 2024, and that's cool as hell.

Thanks, robots.
