WWE To Hold Wrestler Tryouts The Week Of 'SummerSlam' In Las Vegas

If you have ever wanted to try out to become a World Wrestling Entertainment superstar, SummerSlam in Las Vegas is a great chance to get your feet wet.

The event that the company always emphasizes during the summer months is coming to the home of the Las Vegas Raiders, Allegiant Stadium, and they are hosting a multi-day tryout to find new stars.

SummerSlam will take place on Saturday, August 21st. The tryouts for possible new recruits will take place a few days prior to the event. Those who pass the test will then have a chance to go across the country to the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida to continue training.

“Talent is the lifeblood of our industry,” WWE’s executive vice president of global talent, strategy and development Paul “Triple H” Levesque said in a statement.

“These tryouts, coupled with SummerSlam, one of our premier events, will help us discover world-class athletes that will serve as the next wave of WWE superstars.”

The 2021 SummerSlam event is expected to be highlighted by a main event of WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns defending his championship against a returning John Cena, who hasn't wrestled since the cinematic Firefly Fun House loss to 'The Fiend' Bray Wyatt at WrestleMania 36.

Cena is one of the stars of the upcoming "F9: The Fast Saga," and has not discussed returning to the ring while making promotional appearances for the movie.
