WWE Releases Two Big Stars

Wrestling fans weren't expecting this today.

WWE announced on Wednesday that it has released Braun Strowman and Aleister Black, two fan favorites. Strowman and Black were among other noteworthy cuts:

This is quite a shock. Just a few years ago, WWE had pushed Strowman as the company's No. 2 behind Roman Reigns. And while Strowman was not fit for that status, WWE kept him protected as an upper-level, sometimes main event performer. At the latest pay-per-view, Strowman competed and lost for the WWE Championship.

Black too was once projected as a focal point of WWE's future.

Black's unique character and in-ring work would translate effortlessly to AEW, which I assume will take a look at both Black and Strowman.
