Will Cain To Try Out for Fox News 7 pm Opening

Will Cain is the next personality to host a week of Fox News Primetime, the network's new 7 p.m. opinion program. Cain announced on OutKick this morning with Clay Travis that he will host the program Monday-Friday next week.

Since January, Fox News has rotated personalities on Primetime as it searches for a permanent host. Cain is the latest talent added, joining Trey Gowdy, Brian Kilmeade, Pete Hegseth, Maria Bartiromo, Mark Steyn, Rachel Campos-Duffy, Lawrence Jones, Katie Pavlich, Tammy Bruce, and Ben Domenech. For what it's worth, Gowdy, who has drawn the highest ratings thus far, was named host of a new Sunday evening program, which will debut in June.

Since OutKick first reported the news about the new FNC 7 p.m. show, I've said that Cain, given his upside, would be one of the best options the network has for the opening.

Cain's selling point for the job will be his opening monologues. Fox News' biggest stars -- Tucker Carlson, Sean Hannity, Laura Ingraham -- are known for their distinctive opening monologues. This fits right into Cain's wheelhouse. Opening rants were the signature of Cain's radio show at ESPN, just as they are on his new Fox News podcast, which doesn't feature guests.

Will says Clay will join him on the show sometime next week. The two discuss Primetime at the 23:00 mark.
