Where Does All The Merchandise Of The Losing Teams In Sports Biggest Games Wind Up?

Undoubtedly you've seen over the years the hundreds, if not thousands, of shirts hats and other apparel created for a team that ultimately ends up losing a title or championship game.

So what exactly happens to all of that apparel since it obviously can no longer be sold?

Well, after the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' Super Bowl victory at Raymond James Stadium on Sunday, those boxes of Kansas City Chiefs merchandise have to go somewhere, and as so often happens, they will go to a charitable cause.

Fox 13 in Tampa reports that the Chiefs merchandise will be shipped off to Good360, a nonprofit group that works with the NFL to make sure unused championship gear goes to those in need abroad.

"This is a piece of football history that isn't necessarily thought of a lot," Good360 spokesperson Shari Rudolph said via Fox 13.

"We work with the NFL on a pre-approved list of countries, and those goods can go anywhere in say Africa, Asia, the Middle East."

One thing that is new for 2021 are masks, which until the COVID-19 pandemic began last year, was never part of the merchandise that would go to countries in need. However, such apparel is now sorely needed.
