It’s considered among the best burger joints in America. It has continued to grow beyond the southwest United States, where it was founded. It is Whataburger, and now it’s coming to Nashville.
And Whataburger will be serving the area more than burgers and fries. It will also be creating about 200 jobs in the area and as many as 1,300 by 2022.
The company announced the move to Nashville — or more precisely, 5055 Old Hickory Blvd. in Hermitage — in a press release.
“To prepare for the grand opening, Whataburger is now hiring in the Nashville area for vacant positions,” per WKRN-TV. “The open positions include restaurant manager, general manager and area manager, while the hiring of team leaders and team members will begin this summer.”
Whataburger has yet to announce an opening date, but company executives promised details are coming soon.
It was founded in Corpus Christi, Texas in 1950 and is now headquartered in San Antonio. There are more than 670 restaurants in Texas and more than 150 in New Mexico, Arizona and the southern states, according to the company website. Of those, 126 are franchised.

They need to bring back the Pico burger ASAP.
The one by my house needs to hire more employees. They are slow as hell.
Habit blows them out of the water
I loved the gigantic milkshakes they used to make when I was a kid.

We had 7 in the Orlando area and then closed in 2017
Now only in north FL, champ. I think Tampa had some a few years back now only Jax, Tallahassee, Pensacola/panhandle.
Whataburger is king in Texas. Long lines all day and night. They are a little slower because their burgers and fries are made to order. Always come out hot. Love me some Whataburger!!
Patty melt is my personal fav from there. Only ever ate there when I was in Tejas so maybe they’ll expand to my particular track of land someday.
Amazing.
Best fast food in the world. Not even a close second.
