Western Kentucky Fan (Possibly A Former Player) Tried To Fight Southern Miss Players At Halftime

There was a rare 2020 incident during Saturday's Southern Miss-Western Kentucky game where a fan, instead of wanting to fight another fan, tried to fight the Golden Eagles bench during halftime.

Eyewitnesses at Houchens Industries–L. T. Smith Stadium in Bowling Green, KY claim that the fan trying to fight Southern Miss during halftime is actually a former Hilltoppers player. We can't go publishing the name being thrown around because it's hearsay, and OutKick needs substantiate facts before publishing anything.

And it doesn't really matter anyway. It's Western Kentucky. What matters here is that we're starting to get action in the stands. I just didn't expect it to be a fan trying to fight the opposing team. 2020 has been absolutely worthless for action off the field. The fun times have been non-existent, thanks to that damn virus ruining all the fun.

That said, I've been in this business a long time, and I can't remember a time when a fan wanted onto the field to fight guys wearing helmets and shoulder pads. It's not the smartest move in sporting event fights, but who am I to judge how the crazies spend their time and energy?

Western went on to win the game 10-7. They will finish up their home schedule Saturday when FIU (0-4) rolls into town. They should be on their guard against all opponents on the field--and in the stands.
