Wendy’s must’ve been feeling like a married mother of three who’s swapped too much gym time for wine time. Suspecting they are less desirable than ever but aspiring to return to peak form, the fast food giant took a glimpse in the mirror and decided to make some changes. For the first time in nearly 10 years, Wendy’s has changed up their fry game.
“We wanted them to be hotter and crispier,” said Wendy’s CEO Todd Penegor via Yahoo’s Finance Live.

Fearing a potential divorce from their once-loyal eaters and growing tired of the constant gawking at McDonalds’ warm, crispy delights, Wendy’s opted for a French fry body overhaul.
“At the end of the day, the consumer wants an experience that is hotter, crispier, and we worked hard to deliver on that experience and make it easier operationally to manage within the restaurant to deliver on that promise time and time again.” said Penegor.
The new spuds have Wendy’s feeling more beautiful than a bride on her wedding day.
“We are so excited about it,” said Penegor.
After all these years, it would be hard to walk away from the delicacy that is Wendy’s fries. Maybe the fries had been a little soggy for a while and maybe room temperature had become the norm. Who could blame them for getting comfortable after all this time together? But Wendy’s is committed to reigniting the spark and keeping people coming back for more.
“If you’re disappointed in your French fries at a Wendy’s restaurant, we will happily make them over for you,” Penegor said. “But man, these things do stay hotter. They do stay crispier a lot longer.”
Props to Wendy’s for doing their part to keep the fry-consumer relationship as hot as the day they met.
