Watch: Video Announcing Washington Commanders A Lot Cooler Than New WFT Nickname

Videos by OutKick

The Washington Football Team, formerly known as the Washington Redskins, have officially announced their new name and threads: the Washington Commanders.

Here’s the team’s full reveal on Twitter:

It’s better than calling them Washington Football Team, but with those colors, there isn’t much they could do to make this a home run. And as we’ve mentioned at OutKick a million times, it was a mistake to bow to the woke mob and change their name in the first place. This set a precedent that’ll lead to the Atlanta Braves changing their name, and the cycle of names to accommodate ever-transforming standards will never end.

We still haven’t gotten accustomed to calling them the Washington Football Team, and now we have a whole new name in the hat. Too bad none of us can remember names. Here’s another look of those threads the Commanders tweeted out (home and road):

They kind of look like Arizona State, no?

  1. Let’s shorten it to Commies.
They will still suck and struggle to win 6 games. Their tickets are worth more if you can sell them to opposing teams fans. You can recoup all your money and then some.
