Washington Redskins Are Now The Washington Football Team

The Washington Redskins will be named the “Washington Football Team” until further notice, according to the Football Team. You will soon be able to purchase Washington Football Team merchandise as the team continues its quest to find a name after dropping Redskins earlier this month.

The Football Team’s color scheme will stay the same and helmets will have the Redskins logo removed and feature player numbers, according to Adam Schefter. Fanatics and NFL Shop will be carrying the Washington Football Team merchandise “in the coming days.”

If you were wondering about www.washingtonfootballteam.com, it’s already taken. If you’re defiant and want to buy some Redskins gear, NFLShop.com is still selling jerseys, masks, coats, t-shirts you can customize and there are even slides if you’re looking to get real comfortable. If you thought a name change would mean the NFL Shop would burn its stockpile of Redskins gear, you’d be very wrong.

  2. If Snyder doesn’t stop this, they will just be called “Football Team” before the year’s out since George Washington was not woke enough. Maybe they can do it Prince-style “Football Team Formerly known as The Washington Redskins” and keep all of their logos. This is one thing (among many other things) I didn’t like about Soccer- no mascots. Boring!

    Who said Daniel Snyder was a jerk???? (We all pretty much agree he is.)
    But LOL he gets the last laugh for now. Not a fan so I don’t have a dog in this race, but ya gotta like the high stakes game he’s playing.
