Washington DE Montez Sweat Wants More Facts About Vaccinations

There are waves in Washington today over some vaccine comments made by WFT defensive end Montez Sweat.

Sweat said that he has yet to get COVID, and he’d like to keep it that way, staying as healthy as he can.

“I haven’t caught COVID yet, so I don’t see me treating COVID until I actually get COVID,” Sweat said.

“I’m not a fan of it at all. … I won’t get vaccinated until I get more facts.”

Sweat isn’t at camp for Washington this week, something that head coach Ron Rivera commented about Tuesday.

“I know they’ve talked to their position coaches,” Rivera said.

“The thing that we stress is that [camp] is voluntary. You’d love to have everybody here, especially because we’ve got 86 guys [here]. It’d be nice to have everybody. But I get it.

“To get together, to work together, to develop, I think our guys have seen the importance and significance of this. I’m really grateful that they’re here. I truly am. And I appreciate them being here.”

  1. So Erie County, NY health department won’t let season ticket holders attend Bills games if they’re not fully vaxxed. Bills ownership saluted and said “yes, indeed…we’re good with that”. Meanwhile, the players are maybe 50/50 right now?
Jon Rahm was on pace for historic record-setting low scoring (and a huge win) at The Memorial and was told he had to leave after Saturday’s round, even though he had previously tested + and would have had antibodies. What if that decision affects him making post-season? Like Clay said, let the guy carry his own bag on Sunday and distance himself. I mean, of all the sports to make that call?!!
Is the NFL gonna be the latest pro league to declare players out for 10-day covid protocols?
Vegas and the gambling world will not like it at all…huge effect…no lines til Saturday afternoon?
Revised lines Sunday mornings? Talk about a dumpster fire.

  2. Well as a Washington fan Sweat was already my favorite player on our defense and now even more so. Watch this dude more then Chase Young next time you watch our games if we play your team, the dude is an absolute freak of an athlete at the DE position and will do something once a game that makes you say holy shit.

  3. As with most athletes/celebrities who tread into murky water – it would be nice for him to clarify what particular “facts” he is looking for rather than just making broad statements.

It’s a shame though real independent “facts” are near impossible to find from mainstream sources.
