Are you jonesing to be at an Oakland A’s game just enjoying everything the Oakland Coliseum has to offer on a cool July night. The A’s have a deal for you! They’ll let you send in a photo and a cutout of your photo will be created and the A’s will place the cutout in a seat so your virtual self can sit there and watch a game. For most of you it will cost $89 (buy here!) or you can be a big spender to have your cutout in a foul ball zone. Yes, you’ll get the foul ball if the ball hits your cutout.
Coliseum Cutouts will be authenticated and recognized by MLB as official “virtual fans.” Due to limitations, not all sections and rows are available for this program and we cannot accommodate seat requests. Your cutout will remain in the ballpark for the 2020 regular season and you’ll have an option to pick it up following the season. Please note, we cannot guarantee the condition of your cutout after exposure to weather and outdoor elements.
A’s Access member pricing – $49
Coliseum Cutout – $89
Foul Ball Zone Coliseum Cutout – $129
Proceeds go to charity and you get to sit at home and root for a liner off your cutout so you get a foul ball in the mail. The only major problem here is that the A’s “cannot guarantee the condition of your cutout after exposure to weather and outdoor elements.” I’m not sure if that means cutouts that get wet and get ruined are thrown out and that’s the end of the season for your cutout. The good news is that Oakland doesn’t get much rain in July (average is 0.29 inches) and in August it’s pretty much guaranteed not to rain.
The cutout idea caught on in Europe where soccer stadiums feature cutouts.

Or a Social Justice Message Cutout!?
*In 1914 the ottoman Turks ‘Turkey’ killed 1.4 million Armenians. And sent hundreds of thousands to die in the dessert. The holocaust before the holocaust. Can I buy a Cutout that says that!?
Are we destroying spectator sports in America?
Seems like it.
