Vikings Wrapping Up Revised Deal With LB Anthony Barr

Minnesota Vikings veteran linebacker Anthony Barr is getting his deal revised, as he will take various cuts to help the Vikings with their salary cap number as they enter 2021 free agency.

Barr's newest deal will see him make a fully guaranteed $9.4M salary, plus $500K in per-game roster bonuses and a $100K workout bonus.

The linebacker was slated to make $12.9M this season, but now with that old deal wrapped up, Barr can become a free agent in March 2022.

Barr has been solid at the linebacker spot in seven seasons for the Vikings, putting up 423 tackles, 15 sacks, two interceptions, eight forced fumbles and 26 pass breakups.

The UCLA standout was the ninth overall pick by the Vikings back in 2014, the first draft choice by current head coach Mike Zimmer. Barr has also served as a defensive captain the past three seasons.

It was a tough 2020 for Barr, as the linebacker tore his pec muscle in Week Two against the Indianapolis Colts. He was placed on injured reserve and missed the remainder of the season.

Before the Vikings and Barr ripped up their deal, the linebacker had three years left on the contract.
