Video: Trevor Lawrence Explains Why He Didn't Opt Out of Football Season

Trevor Lawrence sat down for an interview with Tom Rinaldi for ESPN's College GameDay. Rinaldi's last question was about what made the presumptive no. 1 overall pick in next year's NFL Draft return to play this season (in light of the obvious risks):

"I just love football," Lawrence said. "I'm graduating in December. I plan on this being my last season -- just really excited to have one more with my brothers, my teammates, my coaches, that I've grown so close to over the last three years. I definitely respect everyone else's decision, but I'm a football player. I know I'm more than that but at the end of the day that's what I love to do."

It's notable here that Lawrence implied it was his last season at Clemson. I mean, we all could have surmised that would be the case, but this was essentially a formal acknowledgement of that.
