The first half just came to a close in the BYU-Coastal Carolina game. So far, the top-25 matchup has been as advertised with the No. 13 Cougars leading the No. 18 Chanticleers 14-13.
The half ended with an interception in the end zone from star BYU quarterback Zach Wilson that was returned to midfield. After the interception, things got a little dicey on the field between the two teams.
A scuffle broke out that delayed both squads from returning to their respective locker rooms. The reason? Two Coastal Carolina defenders decided to take advantage of getting a couple blocks in on the Heisman candidate.
This would explain why the BYU bench was upset⬇️

It wasn’t illegal, but it is also understandable why BYU players were upset about it, and their actions reflected a team that wasn’t happy. Here is a clip of the actual scuffle between the two teams.

The Cougars were 11-point favorites coming into this game, but the Chanticleers are only down one at the half. With the way things ended in the first, the last 30 minutes of football should get even more interesting.
BYU didn’t travel over 2,000 miles across the country for a boring game, after all.
I’ve been watching this game and Coastal is certainly getting a lot of leeway for after the whistle hits. It’s been a pretty dirty game, and the refs have apparently decided not to throw any flags to calm it down.
It was total B.S. and cheap by #84. The first blocks by the 2 Chanticleers were fine, but then to basically pick Wilson up and slam him back down…..what a chickenshit maneuver by an obviously shitty player
