Video: Florida Atlantic OL Ejected from Montgomery Bowl for 'Fighting'

It's Christmas, and Noel is supposed to be a festive song bringing holiday cheer. This year, it's an offensive lineman for Florida Atlantic who was ejected during the Montgomery Bowl on Wednesday night.

Right before the end of the first half, offensive guard Desmond Noel struck a Memphis player in the helmet. It was clearly intentional, and it resulted in his ejection. Check out the play below.

Was it a weak call? Probably, but Noel clearly hit the defender, senior linebacker JJ Russell. It was more than likely a result of frustration. The Owls went into halftime down 18-0, but have since closed the gap to 25-10 in the fourth quarter.

Noel was a big loss, though. The senior was Preseason All-Conference USA Selection, and has been an anchor on Florida Atlantic's offensive line this season.

We'll see how this one turns out. The Tigers are currently trying to win their first bowl game since a 55-48 double overtime win over BYU in the 2014 Miami Beach Bowl. They're 0-5 since then.

Florida Atlantic, on the other hand, has never lost a bowl (4-0).
