I’m still trying to figure out what was going on in front of Urban Meyer during his Tuesday Big Ten Network interview to discuss the B1G postponing its fall sports season. There’s no hating here on Urbs. This is just one of those fun Internet moments where sleuths go nuts trying to put the pieces together.
This one seems pretty simple: Urban’s on a boat, likely Lake Erie since he was golfing in Toledo Monday and is known to enjoy Put-In-Bay and all the fun partying that goes on around the islands. One of his buddies rolls in while Urban’s trying to conduct an interview with Big Ten Network. Maybe the guys had a few pops. One thing leads to another and Urban’s buddy is getting too close. Little does Urban realize there’s a mirror behind him.
I know the Internet’s been having a field day with this video because crushing Urban is social media’s favorite pastime and this is their latest opportunity to come up with all sorts of dumb theories on what we’re seeing here.
This reminds me of a day on the golf course when you’ve played 18, tell your wife the boys want to play 18 more and then you’ll be right home. She calls later in the day and there are still five holes to play, but you make a horrible mistake and say you’re on the way. Then one of your buddies starts screaming about doing shots as you’re motioning to STFU.
Same thing with Urban.

I’m probably one of the handful of gator fans who still appreciate Urbo and cherish the years we had with him. I didn’t begrudge him going to OSU, I wasn’t excited about it but I totally get the move. That video is the weirdest thing…how would his agent even let him take that call in that state? Why wouldn’t the producer cut to tape of him calling plays on the sideline or a graphic about the cancellation or anything besides that? 2020 I guess.
