Urban Meyer Endorses John Kasich For President

Urban Meyer just endorsed John Kasich for President. This endorsement is likely bittersweet for John Kasich, on the one hand he just got the support of one of the two most powerful coaches in college football. On the other hand, Kasich's probably going to get arrested now.

Not gonna lie, I'm kind of blown away by this. Because we've been getting questions about college coaches endorsing presidential candidates for years in the mailbag and it never happens. No head coach is ever willing to endorse anyone. So Urban's a Republican? This is actually big news in the state of Ohio, which may well end up deciding the presidential election yet again this year.

Kasich has no statistical chance of winning the nomination outright, but he could end up the selection at a brokered convention or, more likely, be the vice presidential candidate for Donald Trump. Are there a few thousand independent Buckeye voters who might be swayed by this endorsement in the general election? I think so. What if Urban Meyer puts Donald Trump in the White House?

Now that we've got a college coach stepping into the political arena the big question is this, who's the most likely head coach to endorse Donald Trump outright? I feel like it's definitely Bret Bielema.

And will Nick Saban come out and endorse Hillary Clinton now?

You know Saban's a huge liberal, right, Bama fans? Because he is. I would just love to see Saban's popularity put to the tes in Alabamat, "Y'all vote for Hillary down here or I'm leaving the Crimson Tide."

Would Hillary win Alabama then?

Regardless, coaches endorsing presidential candidates is pure gold for Outkick. No matter how much our haters try to bring us down, I keep hitting blackjack.

Special Outkick the Show time today, 11 eastern, so I can make it over for the early SEC tourney basketball games.

We'll be discussing this, come hang.

And, by the way, how about holding this endorsement until after the Michigan primary? John Kasich's no idiot.
