Umpire Forgets Count In Braves/Marlins Game 2 And It Costs Atlanta An Out

Home Plate umpire Dan Bellino forgot the count in the second inning of Game 2 between the Braves and Marlins. Braves outfielder Adam Duvall should have walked, but Bellino blanks out on the count. Duvall ends up flies out deep into right field later in the at-bat. We always knew playoff umpiring would be bad, just not like this.

Obviously he lost track of the count. We can acknowledge he's human, but how does no one correct him? Duvall and the entire Braves dugout should know the count, not just Dan Bellino. Wins can become losses on one or two plays throughout a game, yet no one seemed concerned enough to pay attention.

Adam Duvall looks back and argues for two seconds like he was just asked for two forms of ID! We'll never understand how things like this continue to happen to big league umpires with absolutely zero repercussion. MLB might want to get the umpiring right before asking a young audience to watch these game.

Umpiring keeps getting worse, and hopefully situations like this won't be for nothing. #RobotUMPS
