Tua Having An Awful Start To Dolphins Minicamp

Tua is off to a dismal start at Dolphins minicamp as he finished today's practice with FIVE interceptions. That would even make Nathan Peterman proud.

Apparently there's "torrential" rain coming down in Florida, so there's a potential excuse there. Although, if Tua can't grip the ball well enough to throw the ball down the field, then how can Dolphins corners catch the ball this easily? I'll let you guys ponder that.

Anyway, according to Tua Tagovailoa, this was sort of the game plan -- it just didn't work.

"The emphasis today was to be aggressive and fit the ball into windows and push the ball," he said. "If there is a time to make mistakes, this is the time to make mistakes and learn from them."

Technically, this is all true. Unfortunately for young players in this era, there's no time for a learning curve. Everyone is expected to be elite from mini camp to Super Bowl Sunday, with no mental or physical lapses in between. It's too bad we don't hold ourselves to these standards.

If you suck wind in training camp: 'He's a bust!'

You do something that doesn't work out Week 1: The back up is trending on Twitter.

You don't make the playoffs Year 1: 'He can't be the next Tom Brady, so he sucks!'

Let's all take a deep breath and realize that Tua just had a brutal day at the yard for a multitude of reasons. Mastering the quarterback position looks really hard, so let's consider that. He'll be fine.
