Travis Kelce Details His Spending Spree After Signing His First Contract

NFL players make a lot of money. Shocking, right? Well, they also know how to spend it -- or at least Travis Kelce does. The Kansas City Chiefs tight end recently detailed some of his extravagant purchases after signing his rookie deal back in 2013.

Despite inking a $3.1 million contract with a $700,000 signing bonus, Kelce admits now that he struggled to pay rent by the end of his first year, according to Yahoo Sports.

“I should’ve been on the 30 for 30: Broke the way I was spending,” he told Shannon Sharpe on the Club Shay Shay podcast.

Shoes, watches and other items were included on his "big-spender" list, but it looks like Kelce has moved past all that. Well, maybe not completely past it, but he understands the importance of having a financial advisor.

“All the young guys in the league that have the opportunity to get that first big check from the NFL, save it, man," Kelce said talking to Sharpe. "Find a financial advisor you trust that’s gonna do right with your money.”

Good thing he figured that out before inking his new contract extension. It would be a shame to squander away the $60 million he signed on for back in August.
