Here’s our take for Thursday night’s primetime game:

Under 44.5 and Rams -5.5

Bill Belichick vs. Sean McVay. Does it get any better?

We all remember what happened the last time these two coaches met – a 13-3 punt fest… Errr… defensive battle, with the winner (New England) leaving with the Lombardi Trophy.

While we wouldn’t usually put much stock in a game from two seasons ago (or even coaches over players for that matter), these two are amongst the best the league has ever seen, so it’s fair to expect another tight, defensive battle. That’s why we’re on the under.

The Patriots have consistently proven they don’t need to pass to win games. Cam Newton only threw for 69 yards in their blowout win vs. the Chargers last week, 45-0. But their 3rd ranked rushing attack will face its toughest test yet on Thursday. The Rams boast the 2nd ranked rush defense in the NFL, paired with the league’s best pass defense.

In other words, the New England offense is in trouble.

Jared Goff and the Rams are playing their best football all year. Lay the points and the Rams.
