'Tiger King' Star And Zookeeper Found Dead At NYC Residence

Erik Cowie, one of the zookeepers on Netflix's "Tiger King," has been found dead in his New York City residence, according to TMZ. He was reportedly found face down by a friend in a bedroom of the home, and there are no reports of suspicious activity. He was 53.

Given that information, it seemed realistic, based on his appearance on the Netflix series, that Cowie may have potentially dealt with drug addiction. He'd since gotten his teeth fixed after memes surfaced on the web that drew plenty jokes about his wellbeing and now, sadly, Cowie is no longer with us.

Earlier this year, Cowie was arrested for DUI in Oklahoma after a car accident. He later pleaded guilty. Unfortunately, the Netflix star never appeared to a later court date and somehow settled in New York where he eventually lost his life.

Cowie also appeared in court to testify against Joe Exotic that led to the animal caretaker's conviction.

RIP to one hilarious zookeeper.
