Three Teams Showing Interest In Veteran Running Back Leonard Fournette

Leonard Fournette is getting some love around the NFL, as the veteran running back is being looked at by three teams that may want to sign him in free agency.

The Seattle Seahawks, Tampa Bay Buccaneers and New England Patriots are reportedly the three teams with heavy interest in Fournette, who is coming off a Super Bowl title win with Tom Brady and the Bucs.

Brady has reportedly been "recruiting" Fournette to stay with the Bucs, according to Albert Breer of The MMQB. The former first-round pick of the Jacksonville Jaguars ran for 367 yards and six touchdowns in 2020, adding 36 receptions for 233 yards.

One problem with remaining in Tampa is that Fournette is not the starter there. The starting job has gone to Ronald Jones II instead.

Still, he did have a solid role on the team during the Bucs' postseason run, helping out in wins over Washington, New Orleans, and Green Bay and then Kansas City in the Super Bowl. In the four playoff games, Fournette rushed for 300 yards and three touchdowns and had 18 receptions for 148 yards and a score.

New England could use a running back, as could the Seahawks, if they lose Chris Carson.

If Fournette wants to be a starter, New England is probably his best bet. If he chooses between the Bucs and Seahawks, he will likely consider who would be playing in front of him and whether he'd be willing to wait his turn in the team's running back rotation.
