The Yankees Are Back Shopping In The Discount Bin Again, Attending Cole Hamels' Friday Showcase

The Yankees are expected to attend a Friday showcase featuring 37-year-old left-hander Cole Hamels, according to MLB Network's Joel Sherman. When Yankees fans said they wanted some pitching -- I'm pretty sure this isn't what they meant.

My goodness, Brian Cashman needs to be fired.

Due diligence, probably

Brian Cashman and the Yankees always seemingly attend these type of events just in case, but why are they doing this now? Regardless of what Hamels brings to the table, it's not going to be enough. The Yankees need top flight rotational talent to pair with ace Gerrit Cole, and Cole Hamels is not it.

They took a flier on 35-year-old Corey Kluber at the tune of $11 million this past off-season, so why go for another reclamation project? There's no explanation, honestly, because this is just stupidity on all levels. Cole Hamels has no business being looked at by the bombers at all. For anyone who cares, Hamels last pitched with the Braves in 2020 and posted an 8.10 ERA.

Cashman, if you can hear me, cut the crap and go grab some real talent. Sifting around in the clearance bin never leaves you satisfied. It just saves you money.
