The Science Behind The Allegations On OBJ

Browns star wideout Odell Beckham Jr. grabbed headlines when a woman claimed on a podcast that OBJ "liked to be s--t on." The allegation flooded the news cycle, but what scientifically is this sexual behavior?

Some answers from Dr. Judith Milner, a psychiatry specialist out of Everett, Washington:

"Coprophilia (also known as coprolagnia) is a paraphilia where people get sexual pleasure from feces. Sexual excitement typically comes from (i) watching somebody defecate on somebody else or (ii) they themselves defecating on somebody else. Or in rare cases, being sexually aroused when they are defecated on by somebody else."

The claim made on OBJ is notably classified as "rare."

Doctors insist paraphilia is a mental disorder and according to assistant professor of clinical psychology Dr. Tamara Penix , "There is no data indicating successful treatment of coprophila." The disorder has been linked to characteristics of schizophrenia, so any truth to this interview would be serious.

Beckham Jr. took his response to Instagram:

A case study done by well known disability field consultant out of Canada, Dave Hingsburger, states that coprophilia was "an acquired, developed, and conditioned behavior."

Like any other news of this magnitude, we'll have to wait until OBJ's camp has a chance to further denounce or solidify the statement.
