The Patriots Defense Carries Super Cam Over The Cardinals 20-17

It might be time to come up with a new nickname to describe Cam Newton's football career. "Super Cam" isn't cutting it anymore. He's not a bad player, but he had little to do with today's Patriots 20-17 win over the Arizona Cardinals. The walk-off win came from kicker Nick Folk, who hit one from 50 yards as time expired.

When teammates say, "We got it done and that's all that matters," they imply that the win was ugly. Honestly, Cam made this game ugly. The Patriots defense essentially shut down an ailing Kyle Murray, keeping him to just 17 points, but Cam still made grabbing the win harder than it should've been.

Newton finished with just 84 yards and 2 picks and a minuscule QBR of 6.7. I've been rooting for Super Cam to show the world what he can do, but since his COVID diagnosis, he's been a disappointment. Throwing for under 100 yards is simply unacceptable in the NFL.

Nonetheless, the Patriots came out on top and improved their record to 5-6. Unfortunately for them, the Patriots sit behind the surging Miami Dolphins and Buffalo Bills. So really, the Patriots defense just carried Bill Belichick further down the draft. This one truly was "ugly."
