The Latest AP Top 25

The AP top 25 poll just came out. With the Big Ten finally playing, there were some interesting movements. Here are the current rankings:

1. Clemson
2. Alabama
3. Ohio State
4. Notre Dame
5. Georgia
6. Oklahoma State
7. Cincinnati
8. Texas A&M
9. Wisconsin
10. Florida
11. BYU
12. Miami
13. Michigan
14. Oregon
15. North Carolina
16. Kansas State
17. Indiana
18. Penn State
19. Marshall
20. Coastal Carolina
21. USC
22. SMU
23. Iowa State
24. Oklahoma
25. Boise State

Some quick notes:

1) Ohio State, with a commanding victory over Nebraska, leapfrogged Notre Dame and Georgia to vault from no. 5 to no. 3.

2) Cincinnati jumped from no. 9 to no. 7 after beating SMU; SMU fell from no. 16 to no. 22.

3) Previously unranked, Indiana jumped all the way up to no. 17 after beating Penn State, their first win over a team ranked in the AP top 10 since 1987. Penn State fell from no. 8 to no. 18.

4) Wisconsin jumped from no. 14 to no. 9 after Graham Mertz was hugely impressive in his debut in a blowout victory over Illinois. Elsewhere in the Big Ten, Michigan beat Minnesota and jumped from no. 18 to no. 13.

5) Teams that are in the top 25 this week but were not last week: Boise State, Oklahoma, and, as we mentioned, Indiana.
