The Huntington Beach Bad Boy Wins Huntington Beach City Council Seat

Tito "Huntington Beach Bad Boy" Ortiz, whose 21-12 career MMA record that includes some of the most memorable UFC fights in company history, went out Tuesday and won himself a seat on the Huntington Beach City Council. Running on a "Make #HuntingtonBeach Safe Again!" platform, Ortiz was the leading vote-getter (14.3 %) in a race where three candidates were selected to represent the city.

Ortiz, a conservative with a rock-solid friendship with Donald Trump, said Monday that his political run is a fight for all the patriots out there who feel like politicians aren't fighting for the common man.

“People know where I came from. They know my views. They know what I stand for,” Ortiz said. “They’re mad at all of the politicians coming in here and doing what they’ve been doing for the last 10 years. It’s not working. Now it’s about the patriots stepping up and fighting for what’s theirs, and this is ours. I was born and raised here. I’m living the American Dream, and I don’t want to lose it.”

In 2019, Huntington Beach was being called the anti-California by liberal media outlets.

"The city also has aligned itself with President Trump in his battles against the state," Joe Mathews wrote in the Ventura County Star.  Most troublesome, the city is pursuing litigation to exempt itself from state sanctuary protections for unauthorized immigrants. Huntington Beach dresses up such anti-immigrant policies by saying it’s defending local control. That’s head-spinning chutzpah, given that area politicians have criticized other California localities that protect immigrants rather than collaborate with Trump’s reckless deportation policies."

And in keeping with its outlaw image, it just makes sense that the citizens hired the "Huntington Beach Bad Boy" to help lead the city.
