The Hottest College Football Tickets This Week and So Far This Season

The Morning Consult poll that we published earlier indicates a majority sports fans have a willingness to attend games with reduced capacity, and I've become curious how hot the tickets are at SEC, Big 12, and ACC venues that allow fans.

I reached out to the ticket marketplace Vivid Seats, here is what they sent back about the hottest tickets this week, so far this season, and up to this point last season. The prices represent the average cost per ticket sold for each game:

This week:

Alabama at Tennessee - $199
Oklahoma at TCU - $190
Iowa State at Oklahoma State - $151
Baylor at Texas - $147
Auburn at Ole Miss - $126

Most In-Demand Games: 2020 (through Oct. 24)

Georgia at Alabama - $461
Auburn at Georgia - $316
Red River Showdown - $316
Alabama at Missouri - $286
Florida at Texas A&M - $273
Miami at Clemson - $261

Most In-Demand Games: 2019 (Same time frame)

Notre Dame at Georgia - $509
LSU at Texas - $466
Red River Showdown - $443
Nebraska at Colorado - $284
Texas A&M at Clemson - $276

While this year's top ticket prices skew a little bit lower than last year's top prices, all of the top five games last year were out-of-conference matchups with the exception of the Red River Showdown. Non-conference games bit the dust this season. Considering that, this year's prices are right around on par with where they were a year ago. In other words, the lower supply and lower demand seem to be moving in lockstep.
