That Sucks: Vacuum Leads To Arrest Of Chiefs Linebacker

Kansas City linebacker Willie Gay Jr. really needs to clean up his act -- just not with a Hoover. The 23-year-old was arrested on Wednesday night and charged with “misdemeanor criminal damage" after breaking his baby mama’s vacuum.

Gay was visiting his son when he reportedly got into an argument with his son’s mother, leading to a busted appliance and a night behind bars.

Per Gay’s representative, Max Lepselter: “Willie was at his son’s house visiting. He and the mother got into an argument during which he broke her vacuum. No one was touched, nothing happened beyond broken appliance. She called cops about it and they took him in on misdemeanor destruction of property of less than $1000.”

Lepselter’s statement continues: "Likely just pays a fine and replaced vacuum. Nothing more, all should be resolved today with no further issues.”

Thus far this season, Gay’s recorded 48 tackles, two interceptions and one broken sweeper. On Thursday afternoon, he pled not guilty to the charge and was released.

Chiefs defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo addressed the dirty situation with members of the media on Thursday.

“All I can say about Willie is I love working with him,” he said. “He’s been terrific. I mean, I think you guys know he had a baby — I talk to him about that a lot. Hopefully, things will work out for the best for everybody.”

What a mess.
