Man Fatally Stabbed Over Thanksgiving Leftovers

This is wild. The day after Thanksgiving, a Chicago man was fatally stabbed after a fight over the leftovers.

Per the Chicago Tribune, James Dixon, 29, is accused of stabbing the boyfriend of the host who invited him over for a Thanksgiving feast. Vincell Jackson, 52, took issue with Dixon eating leftovers with his bare hands at 3:15 a.m. Dixon, who had several alcoholic drinks, responded to the criticism by sucker-punching Jackson. Shortly thereafter, Jackson was found on the front porch. He had been stabbed nine times.

There were no direct witnesses once the fight went outside, where Jackson was stabbed. Witnesses do say Dixon escalated the fight and acted as the aggressor. When last seen, Jackson was on top of Dixon, asking for someone to call 911.

Eight hours later, Dixon was arrested with multiple knives in his possession, including one covered in blood. Sunday in court, Dixon’s attorney said his client acted in self-defense.

Dixon has three prior felony convictions and is facing a first-degree murder charge in the deadly stabbing.

Before leaving court, Dixon asked the judge how much time he faces. “I was just asking, how much does the case carry?” Dixon asked. "First-degree murder from 20 to 60 years, sir,” Judge Susana Ortiz responded.

All because Jackson didn't want him eating Thanksgiving leftovers with his hands.
