Texas Sets Daily Record in COVID Vaccines Given, Reports Low Hospitalizations

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott prided the state after hitting a record number of vaccinations administered in a single day on Saturday.

Abbott also reports that Texas also has the second-lowest COVID-related hospitalizations in 10 months. He currently has no mask mandates in place and prevents COVID from limiting any business from operating.

Abbot said the state surpassed the 14 million mark for COVID vaccines administered, and as of Saturday, Texas has administered 14,044,543 doses.

According to Texas Health and Human Services, 37.05% of the state's population over the age of 16 has been administered at least one dose of the vaccine, while 23.46% of the population over the age of 16 is fully vaccinated.

The vaccine dashboard shows that 67.09% of Texas' 65+ population has received at least one dose of the vaccine, while 52.28% of the population over the age of 65+ is fully vaccinated.
