Texas Already Took Chris Beard, Will Horns Land Two Tech Transfers?

It appears new Texas coach Chris Beard could bring a couple of former Texas Tech players with him.

Per reports, Red Raiders shooting guard Micah Peavy and junior guard Kyler Edwards are both considering joining their former coach in Austin. Both have reportedly entered the transfer portal.

Edwards is the lone remaining Texas Tech player to have played for the team that reached the championship game and lost to Virginia in 2019.

Beard, 48, coached Texas Tech from 2016-21, and the Red Raiders compiled a 112-55 record and reached the Elite Eight twice during that stretch. He replaces Shaka Smart, who left for Marquette after the season.
