During a radio show Tuesday, Houston Texans general manager Nick Caserio gave insight into his decision to fire former head coach David Culley and whether quarterback Deshaun Watson will play for the Texans again.
Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson still faces 22 civil lawsuits in which he is accused of sexually assaulting or engaging in sexually inappropriate behavior during massage sessions, and Caserio told Sports Radio 610 that Watson playing “more than likely would not be the case.”
“I think we have to be open-minded and just take the information and process it and ultimately make the decision that we feel makes the most sense for everybody involved, whatever that looks like,” Caserio said.
Caserio, in his second year with the team, fired Culley on Thursday after one year, citing “philosophical differences.”
The team has interviewed four candidates for the vacancy so far:
- Brian Flores, former Dolphins head coach;
- Jonathan Gannon, Eagles defensive coordinator;
- Joe Lombardi, Chargers offensive coordinator;
- Hines Ward, special assistant to the head coach at Florida Atlantic University.

Caserio should be fired due to the way he’s managed the entire Watson affair.
Lil McNair is a shell of his father. He doesn’t have the vaguest idea of how to manage this business. He’s turned Bob McNair’s team into a shit show.
