Tennessee Titans Sign 3x NCAA All-American Wrestler Adam Coon

Already a better teammate than Isaiah Wilson, three-time NCAA All-American wrestler Adam Coon has signed with the Tennessee Titans to compete for a spot on the offensive line.

News of the signing followed the team's announcement that cornerback Kevin Johnson will be joining the retired/reserve list.

Listed at 6'5" and 286 pounds, the former wrestling champ will compete to join the Tennessee roster as a guard on the Titans' offensive line.

Coon amassed an all-time record of 116-15 during his wrestling career at Michigan. According to the ESPN report, "Coon has no college football playing experience but was an all-state linebacker in 2012 at Fowlerville High School in Michigan and was an honorable mention offensive lineman in 2010 and 2011."

The former wrestler's foray into football joins a list of players who have transition from a different sport to try out in the NFL—names such as former rugby player Jarryd Hayne, who joined the 49ers, and Jon Brown from Jacksonville, who kicked field goals for the Jaguars after playing soccer throughout college.
