Talladega Superspeedway Offers Two Laps if You Get Tested or Vaccinated

Talladega Superspeedway is taking COVID testing and vaccination drive-through sites to the next level.

In a "Race To End COVID," Alabama Department of Public Health partnered with Talladega Superspeedway and others to provide the testing and vaccination site that's offered at no charge from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. CDT.

"As a special incentive, the track is offering people ages 16 and older, who choose to be tested and/or vaccinated, the thrill of driving their car or truck on the 2.66-mile, 33-degree banked track ...," the news release states. "Drivers and their riders will take two laps behind a track pace vehicle at highway speed. Motorcycles are not permitted."

All participants will be asked to review educational material about COVID-19 vaccine and sign a consent form, and there will also be a consent waiver to participate in taking the laps around the track.

Participants must be at least 19 years old with a valid driver’s license, car registration in their name, and vehicle insurance, the superspeedway said.
