College football IS BACK!

Austin Peay at Central Arkansas...Saturday night...9 ET...ESPN. You need to know Central Arkansas plays on a purple and gray striped field. You've been warned. Austin Peay made it to the quarterfinals of the 2019 FCS tournament, losing to Montana State and finished 11-4. Central Arkansas finished 9-4 in 2019 and made it to the FCS tournament. In other words, we have a solid FCS game coming up Saturday night in Conway, Arkansas.

Keep in mind Central plays Saturday and then Thursday against UAB. Go 2-0 before any other teams play and CAU has to be considered for the Top 25.

In college basketball news, Lute Olson died Thursday. He was 85. When I think Lute and Arizona, I think of Lute dressing like a U.S. Senator and being about as stately as it got in the college game. I'm not old enough to remember the early days of Lute coaching Arizona, but when my memories started to kick in all I saw was that incredible hair. I always had a feeling Lute drove a cherry red Mercedes convertible and drank martinis.

Lute racked up 781 career wins, a 1997 national title and coached a long list of guys who went on to have successful NBA careers: Steve Kerr, Mike Bibby, Jason Terry, Gilbert Arenas and Damon Stoudamire to name a few. RIP Lute.
