Steelers To Chat With Melvin Ingram This Week

The Pittsburgh Steelers, looking to add to their defense for the 2021 campaign,  are set to chat with free agent pass rusher Melvin Ingram this week, according to Jason La Canfora of CBS.

Ingram, 32, has been with the Chargers for the last nine seasons, and in that time, he's played in 113 games and recorded 49 sacks and three interceptions.

Ingram has played at the outside linebacker spot, meaning he can take over for Bud Dupree, who left the Steelers to join the Tennessee Titans. The Steelers could use help rushing the quarterback and stopping the run, especially now that they're without Dupree.

Pittsburgh isn't the only team that has interest in Ingram. CBS Sports reports that the Kansas City Chiefs are also interested in bringing in Ingram.

La Canfora also notes that there are “possibly others” set for further visits and that Justin Houston has already come and gone.

Ingram is the better of the two players, but he's also going to be the more expensive option if the team wants to sign him.
